Pi Network’s Mainnet is now live, and with major exchanges like Bitget, OKX, and HTX finally listing Pi Coin, Pi holders have the opportunity to trade and cash out on the Pi they mined. This guide will step you through how to do it, in a clear and structured way.
The three basic steps for selling Pi are: transfer Pi to an exchange, sell Pi for USDT, and withdraw your money. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: You need to move Pi Coins to an exchange
The initial step in selling your Pi is transferring it from your Pi Network Wallet to a supporting crypto exchange. Here’s how:
- Now, launch the Pi Browser and visit your Pi Network Wallet.
- Enter your passphrase to unlock your wallet.
- Tap on “Pay/Request”, and hit “Manually Add Wallet Address”
- Open an account if you do not have one on a crypto exchange such as Bitget or OKX.
- Go to the Deposit section, choose Pi Coin, and copy the deposit address.
- In your Pi Wallet, paste the deposit address and choose to make the transfer
After the transfer is completed, your Pi Coins will be reflected in your exchange wallet from where you can sell your Pi Coins.
Step 2: Trade Pi for USDT
After your Pi Coins have landed in your exchange account, the next phase is to exchange them with USDT, a widely utilized trading stablecoin. Follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Spot Trading section of your exchange.
- Find the trading pair: PI/USDT
- Choose the order type:
- Market Order – Executes immediately at the current price.
- Limit Order – Allows you to place a buy price and wait.
- Input trade sells Pi amount and confirm.
Once the trade has gone through, you’ll have USDT in your exchange wallet (which can be withdrawn and traded further).
Step 3: Withdraw Your Funds
Having sold your Pi for USDT, withdrawing your money can be done in two ways:
1. Withdraw as Cryptocurrency
- Transfer USDT to your external wallet like Trust Wallet or MetaMask
- If desired, exchange USDT for Bitcoin, Ethereum, or other crypto assets
2. Withdraw as Cash
Here is what you need to do to get your funds in fiat currency by converting to P2P trading:
- Navigate to the P2P Trading section on the exchange.
- For your choice of payment method (bank transfer, PayPal, etc.)
- Buy USDT from a trusted seller and once you get the money, withdraw.
Only proceed if you are confident that the users are not malicious actors and verify all transaction details before you hit confirm.
Who Can Sell Pi Coins?
You can sell if:
- Your Pi has been successfully migrated to the Mainnet.
- You have undergone KYC verification.
You cannot sell yet if:
- Your is still inside the Enclosed Mainnet.
- You have not done KYC and migration.
This is a big milestone for the Pi Network community now that Pi Network Mainnet has been launched and Pi Coin has been listed on top exchanges. The market will continue to evolve as trading activity ramps up.
These steps should allow for a safe and smooth transaction for anyone who is looking to cash out. Always confirm transfer details, be aware of scams, and only trade with trusted parties.
