The International Cricket Council (ICC) has collaborated with ‘NEAR Protocol’ for the innovative use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across ICC’s digital platforms to reform and revolutionize the fan’s engagement and interest throughout the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 tournament.
According to a press Release by the ICC, this year, cricket fans will have a unique and intensified experience like never before at the ICC Men’s Champion Trophy 2025. The new recap feature of the Advance AI on ICC’s digital platforms will track fan engagement, including match predictions and additionally, the fans will be able to vote for the player of the match and other interactions across the ICC’s digital products.
The AI will also analyze the fans’ behavior in all the matches and it will also build a personalized record of each fan’s activity throughout the tournament. At the end of the tournament, fans will receive a detailed recap of their authentic predictions, and which players they highly voted including the other fun insights about their tournament experience.
Further, this personalized recap will also recall and highlight the fan’s Champions Trophy journey. The ICC website will also feature a predictor game, where fans collectively can test their cricket knowledge by predicting outcomes and selecting the best players of the Match.
In addition to this, a new game called Top Picks will challenge its users to pick the best players who best performed in the match, it also has a surprise for its users they can only select each player once throughout the tournament. The popular fantasy game SuperTeam, powered by FanCraze, will allow the fans to create teams using ICC Crictos.
The ICC Champions Trophy is held for the first time since the year 2017 so this year, SuperTeam will also introduce new mini-games like Quests, which offer rewards for collecting specific types of Crictos. It will also schedule daily contests for amazing rewards.
For the first time, the ICC will provide short-form match highlights with Hindi commentary on its Hindi-specific social media channels. Fans can also visit the ICC’s official website and ICC’s official app to get access to all the information about its tournament, live scores, statistics, player features, expert analysis, and daily preview shows.
Finn Bradshaw, the ICC’s Head of Digital, said that, “The ICC is expanding its digital offerings to make fans more immersed in the 2025 Champions Trophy. With AI, we can create personalized experiences for millions of fans around the world. We look forward to seeing how fans engage with our new digital products during the tournament.”
The 2025 ICC Men’s Champions Trophy will kick off at the National Stadium of Karachi in Pakistan from 19th February to 9th March 2025, with Pakistan facing New Zealand in the opening match.
